We’re a scientific foundation dedicated to fostering research in interventional radiology for three main purposes:

• To advance scientific knowledge
• To increase the number of skilled investigators
• To develop innovative therapies that improve patient care and quality of life

At SIR Foundation, we’re committed to developing and enhancing minimally invasive, image-guided therapies from inception to mature clinical application and to conduct educational programs that advance IR.

Improving treatment through trials

The data from clinical trials can be used to evaluate specific outcomes and compare the effectiveness of different treatments — as well as improve care and patient safety. This insight works to advance scientific knowledge and develop innovative therapies to improve IR patient care.

Funding opportunities to advance IR

Every year, SIR Foundation offers an array of funding opportunities to support research and projects dedicated to progressing IR — all aimed at improving patient care and quality of life. 

Periodically, the Foundation issues a request for proposals (RFP) rooted in research priorities and supported by special funding.
