Championing IR
The Society of Interventional Radiology's Government Affairs team works diligently to further the interests of society members by advocating on their behalf before Congress, federal agencies and the White House.
Our issues
SIR advocates against annual Medicare cuts for interventional radiologists to ensure practitioners receive full reimbursement.
SIR works hard to remove regulatory burdens on IR’s day-to-day activities—from data reporting to handling radioactive isotopes—making it easier to focus on what matters: patients.
SIR partners with specialty physician organizations, healthcare stakeholders and members of Congress to spotlight and prioritize the treatment of conditions, such as uterine fibroids, peripheral artery disease, blood clots and cancer.
SIR works with the state and federal government to bring new IRs into the practice and address issues of physician burnout and safety.
